Every year a recorded 65 million printer and copier cartridges are sold in the UK alone and an estimated 15% of these are either reused or recycled. The other 85% either end up in UK landfill sites causing damaging and irreversible effects on the environment, or exported to a number of third world e-waste dumps overseas where labour costs to dismantle the cartridges are cheap.

Why Recycle Your Toner Cartridges
Choosing to recycle your toner cartridges, saves vital limited resources in the form of both oil and energy. Roughly 3.4 Litres of oil is burned during the production of a new toner cartridge – that’s per individual cartridge!
Over 65 million cartridges are sold in the UK every single year and that number is increasing. With only 15% of these being recycled in accordance with waste regulations. The rest are sadly sent to landfill, therefore wasting plenty of potential for remanufacturing, and instead being replaced on the market with brand new cartridges. When you purchase a poor quality cartridge, the parts of that cartridge often cannot be recycled and it becomes a single use plastic.
